Over the past 18 years, taking into consideration that we were closed for most of 2020-2021 (9 months each year) for Covid-19, we are honored to have earned this award an unprecedented 13 times! No other B&B in the U.S. has achieved this feat.
Although we own, manage and work all aspects of the B&B ourselves, there are some very special people and places in our community that have contributed to our guests’ experience in Americus.
Many of our guests arrive in town earlier than check-in at 4:00PM and head over to the Welcome Center downtown where Steve has provided assistance and information. We have to give a shout-out to our Tourism Director, Nicole, and our Main Street Director, Qaijuan, for leading the way towards exciting events for locals and tourists including The Wine & Chocolate Walk, Hot Glass Craft Beer Festival and The Americus Music Festival. For those visiting Andersonville, The Drummer Boy Museum is a treasure, not only for its amazing collection of artifacts, but, for the wonderful curator, Cynthia.
Dinner in Americus offers a multitude of delicious options. Many of our visitors have proclaimed the steak at The Station to be the best they ever had. For fine dining aficionados, Rosemary & Thyme in the Windsor Hotel always delivers. For delicious Mexican food and margaritas, The 1800 Mexican is a guest favorite (it is our favorite, too).
When we have guests staying over on Tuesday night, live bluegrass music at Pat’s Place is always a highlight. If you are a thin crust pizza lover, many have said Pat’s is the best pizza ever. Recently, we have hosted folks who booked The Murder Mystery Dinner Train Ride on the Sam Shortline Excursion Train. It’s an opportunity to enjoy a train ride, dinner and a show!
We truly appreciate everyone in our community who has welcomed our guests with open arms, and contributed to the warm hospitality that compels people to return to Americus.
Last but not least, thank you to all of our guests who have shared their experiences in Americus and our home. We look forward to seeing y’all again, soon.
